Relocated

Relocated is an artistic investigation into death, transition, and the
unknown spaces between endings and beginnings. The work reflects on the
sudden experience of being moved from one reality into another —
relocated without preparation into a place that cannot yet be
understood, only imagined.

What happens when there is no predefined scenography, no fixed
architecture, no clear orientation? Is the new space completely free, or
are invisible structures already waiting for us? Within this
uncertainty, the imagination begins to construct its own environments: a
room, a landscape, a memory, a possible future. The stage becomes an
open field where personal realities can be projected and rebuilt.

The research was developed together with Canadian artist Kathrine Josee
Gervais during a one-month residency at KUBA Artist Residency following
the death of our close friend, the painter Scott Estes. His passing
became the emotional and conceptual starting point of the project.

Through movement, visual composition, text, and performative
experimentation, we explored questions surrounding mortality, absence,
memory, and transformation. The residency created a space where grief
could become material for artistic reflection and where the boundaries
between life and death appeared fluid, intimate, and deeply human.

Today, the topic feels more urgent and relevant than
ever. Relocated does not attempt to provide answers; instead, it opens a
poetic space for questioning: What remains after disappearance? How do
we inhabit uncertainty? And how do we continue to create meaning when we
are suddenly relocated into the unknown?
